International support for Lublin's European Youth Capital 2023 application

We received letters of support from our international partners. When preparing final application for EYC2023, we asked the authorities of partner and friend cities to support our candidacy.
To date, we have already received 12 such letters of support from both the city authorities and the Youth Councils. We are very pleased with the support and kind words we received from our international partners. This will undoubtedly strengthen and make our application more credible. We are looking forward to receive some more letters.

To date, we have received official support from the following cities:

  • Nilufer (Turkey)
  • Rishon LeZion (Israel)
  • Delmenhorst (Germany)
  • Kharkiv - The Mayor and Youth City Council (Ukraine)
  • Lutsk - The Mayor and Youth City Council (Ukraine)
  • Rivne (Ukraine)
  • Sumy (Ukraine)
  • Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine)
  • Timisoara (Romania)

Lublin was shortlisted for the  European Capital of Youth 2023 competition, together with the Russian city of Kazan and the Romanian Baia Mare.

The European Youth Capital is a title awarded by the European Youth Forum designed to empower young people, boost youth participation and strengthen European identity. Each year, a new European city is given the chance to showcase its innovative ideas, projects and activities  that aim to raise up young voices and bring a new youth perspective to all aspects of city life. The European Capital of Youth is a prestigious title awarded each year by the European Youth Forum, established on the initiative of the Council of Europe. It is designed to empower young people, boost youth participation and strengthen European identity.

The winner for the 2023 will be announced during the Award Ceremony in Klaipeda, European Youth Capital 2021, 18 November 2020.
