Vaccinations against COVID-19 for foreigners

Vaccinations against COVID-19 for foreigners
15.01.202117:57

Poland, like other EU member states, has launched a vaccination campaign against COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccines are drugs designed to prevent the disease caused by the coronavirus by triggering an immune response.

Vaccinations are free and voluntary. Foreigners living in Poland can be vaccinated on the same terms as Polish citizens.

Vaccinations are currently underway in the so-called group "zero" – health care workers, including support staff and administration, medical students who have direct contact with patients and employees of nursing homes. As part of this stage, foreigners – students of the Medical University are also vaccinated in Lublin. In the next stage, vaccinations will be available to residents of nursing homes, care and treatment facilities and other places of residential care.

Since January 15 the oldest residents can register for vaccinations

If you are over 80 (70 years old counting from January 22) and you have a PESEL (social security) number, you have three ways to register for vaccinations:

  1. Call 24/7 free helpline – 989

You can do this yourself or a close family member can sign you up. All you need is your PESEL number and a contact telephone number.

  2. Contact a vaccination centre of your choice

Vaccination centres can be found at https://www.gov.pl/web/szczepimysie/mapa-punktow-szczepien#/.

  3. Register electronically via e-Registration, available at https://pacjent.erejestracja.ezdrowie.gov.pl

If you are under 70 years of age and have a PESEL number, you can declare your will to be vaccinated at https://szczepimysie.pacjent.gov.pl/. When your age group is due to be vaccinated, you will be informed that you can go to a doctor to collect your vaccination referral. After receiving the referral, you can make an appointment for vaccination with the same doctor or by calling the helpline on 989 or 22 62 62 989. You will be given two appointments, and an SMS will follow to reminded you about you turn.

If you are under 70 years of age and do not have a PESEL number, wait until your age group is eligible to be vaccinated. Information about this will be available in the media. Then ask your primary care physician (POZ) to give you an e-referral for the COVID-19 vaccination.

If you want to find out more about vaccinations, you may also contact with Lublin Municipal Office's special helpline under the telephone number: 81 466 34 34, Monday to Friday from 7.30-15.30. Unfortunately the helpline is provided only in Polish language.
