The Theatre Confrontations Festival has been continuously held in Lublin for more than twenty years in the Centre for Culture now.

It is the twenty-first edition that takes place in October this year. The festival will feature exquisite foreign artists among others Señor Serrano, a Catalan group who were awarded a Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale Festival in 2015 as well as the Gob Squad which is a British-German group well-known to the Lublin audience. These will be complemented with Polish premiers of performances by Toshiki Okada, Ivo Dimchev and Penny Arcade.

However, this year’s program emphasizes the performances produced by young Polish directors, who filter through the theatre institution and pose questions about the role and responsibility of an artist. The following artists will perform: Anna Smolar, Weronika Szczawińska, Agnieszka Jakimiak, Anna Karasińska, Magda Szpecht, Agata Siniarska, Wiktor Rubin, Jola Janiczak and Janek Turkowski, to name just a few. The icing on the cake will be the performance “Heroes’ Square” of the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre directed by Krystian Lupa. It is going to be the first performance by Krystian Lupa to be shown in Lublin.

The 21st edition of the Theatre Confrontations Festival will be held in Lublin October 6-15. The tickets are available in the box office at the Centre for Culture in Lublin and on the website Tiketto.pl
