The exhibition entitled “Art in the urban space of Lublin post 1945” can be seen in the Town Hall Gallery (pl. Władysława Łokietka 1). We invite everyone to the exhibition which can be visited from 19 to 30 November.
The exhibition containing among others the photographies by Edward Hartwig and Stefan Ciechan provides us with the opportunity to see the most important and the most interesting places of artistic achievements in Lublin. The development of art and idea of producing cultural events will be presented both in the institutional and non-institutional dimension.
This exhibition is interesting and noteworthy especially in the context of the Lublin's 700th anniversary and serves as a way to promote cultural resources of our city which are unique and outstanding in Poland. The space of Lublin City Office can be used not only for organising a traditional exhibition but it can also function as platform to activate residents which in turn might facilitate the dialogue between officials, artists and general public – says Krzysztof Komorski, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Sport and International Relations.
The exhibition will be organised within the “Kultura Samorządowa 25+” project of the National Centre for Culture and the Bęc Zmiana Foundation which launched the pilot competition for the best “Gallery in an Office” on September 2015. The exhibition was held in the town hall thanks to cooperation between officials, professional art curators and artists. Gdynia, Słupsk, Łódź and Bydgoszcz were invited to participate in this year's, pilot edition of the competition.
