The concept of revitalisation of green areas located by the Lublin Castle includes trading areas which are part of the nearby marketplace. The Market by the Lublin Castle will be renovated and will receive “a new face” which will fit the historical panorama of the city. The Market by the Lublin Castle is an important part of the economy of Lublin. It is the partner of the city in respect of implementation of projects, providing the competitiveness of the market as well as the workplaces for entrepreneurs.
We would like to create trading areas with the good infrastructure providing comfortable work conditions and ensuring safety for clients who will be offered access to products of top quality. The Market by the Castle will provide the infrastructure which will come in useful during events organised within the green areas by the Castle. The car park located at al. Unii Lubelskiej is an alternative to the Square at the Castle which becomes the pedestrian precinct during events – says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin.
The Market by the Lublin Castle will be renovated concurrently with carrying out works connected with plans of the renovation of green areas.
We received the final approval for the revitalisation of the marketplace – says Krzysztof Kurys, Head of the Market by the Lublin Castle. We are going to build the new front wall and the roof over the marketplace as well as to move 26 pavilions and to conduct essential works on the infrastructure. It will improve conditions for trading and will encourage buyers to visit the place – says Mr Kurys.
The total cost is estimated to amount to PLN 2 mln.
Rada Lokalnej Przedsiębiorczości (The Council of the Local Entrepreneurship) at the Mayor of the City of Lublin acts as a forum for consulting the issues connected with the economic development of the city. The representatives of the enterprises from Podzamcze made a request to take into account the issue of trade and the infrastructure which is already in existence while implementing the project of the revitalisation of green areas. Our task is to facilitate cooperation in creating optimal conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in Lublin – says Marta Wcisło, the President of the Council of the Local Entrepreneurship at the Mayor of the City of Lublin.
The next meeting of the Council of the Local Entrepreneurship will be devoted to the issue of the green market.
