What is on the schedule this year?
Les Apostrophes – a group founded and led by Martin Schwietzke. They will stage a spectacle entitled “Dislocated Passage.” The group uses all known means of expression during their shows, but they use them in an unconventional way. Their shows always result from a very broad interpretation of culture and art. Their exceptional skills allow them to, literarily and metaphorically, juggle with conventions and means of expression which are often beyond the reach of other artists. A group of five actors impersonate regular passersby who interact with objects located in a city space. A book left on a bench, a cup of coffee or a baguette become pretexts or protagonist in both usual and unusual adventures. The performance will be presented in two versions: stage performance and a performance adapted for the city space of Lublin.
Compagnie Ea Eo was founded by well-known and experienced artists from Belgium and France. On Saturday (July 31), they will present a show titled “m2” which will visualize the issue of decreasing living space and its influence on interpersonal relations. It is an interesting example of a theatre performance during which, throughout the performance, all actors form and shape mutual relations on the stage which is constantly getting smaller and smaller.
The 2010 edition of the Magicians’ Carnival was selected the 2010 Cultural Event by Gazeta Wyborcza Lublin. The project was also recognized as the best Polish promotional product of 2010 during a competition Polska Pięknieje – 7 Cudów Funduszy Europejskich (Poland even more beautiful – 7 Wonders of the European Funds) organized by the Ministry of Regional Development.
