The action of “Volta”, a feature film directed and scripted by Juliusz Machulski, takes place in Lublin. The main roles are played by Andrzej Zieliński, Olga Bołądź, Aleksandra Domańska as well as Tomasz Kot, Robert Więckiewicz and Marcin Dorociński. The feature film project will be subsidized by the city of Lublin since the 700th anniversary of the city charter will be celebrated in 2017.
“Volta” is a comedy with many twists featuring mischiefs, with the history playing a supporting role. In the script, which is held in contemporary Lublin, the viewer will find historical flashbacks, a mystery, a unique intrigue, the unforeseen ending, amusing dialogues and convincing characters.
It is another blockbuster which features the city of Lublin. We are pleased that the film will honour the 700th anniversary of the city charter and this why we have decided to subsidize the film project taking place in our city within the Lublin Film Fund. I hope that the film will attract lots of viewers along with plenty of tourists not only from Poland but also from other countries – says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the Lublin City.
The film will be directed by Juliusz Machulski, the genius of Polish comedies, who is also the director of excellent Polish films such as: “Vabank”, “Seksmisja”, “Vabank II czyli riposta”, “Kingsajz” and “Kiler”. He is also the author of TV dramas: “Jury”, “19. południk”, Przerwanie działań wojennych”, “Next-ex”, “Matka brata mojego syna”, “Brancz”.
The producer will be the Zebra Film Studio which has been present in the film industry for 28 years and has produced 40 feature films and 4 TV series to name a few: Vinci, Kołysanka, Dzień świra, Dług, Killer, W ciemności, Psy, Kroll, Siekierezada.
Shooting on location will commence in mid August and will continue to the end of September. The film will be ready for the distribution at the turn of the first and second quarter of 2017.
According to the director’s plans the cast will feature renown actors not in their usual roles. This trick is intended and aimed to amaze and grip the audience. The main roles will be acted by Andrzej Zieliński, Olga Bołądź, Aleksandra Domańska and historical plots will be played by Tomasz Kot, Robert Więckiewicz and Marcin Dorociński.
The film makers are Juliusz Machulski – the director, script writer and producer and Wojciech Danowski, the executive producer and Arkadiusz Tomiak – the cinematographer.
