15.05.202313:54

As part of European Youth Capital Lublin 2023 celebrations, Lublin is launching City Youth Activator. The new programme will support young residents in performing social and civic activities.

City Youth Activator will help young citizens of Lublin to gain new experiences. It is a programme that provides financial support for social and civic-oriented projects and as a result enabling active participation in the life of our city. By implementing European Youth Capital objectives and goals, we aim to make Lublin a city of active and informed people who make use of participatory methods and tools - says Beata Stepaniuk-Kuśmierzak, Deputy Mayor for Culture, Sport and Participation, Mayor's Plenipotentiary for European Youth Capital.

The aim of civic projects is to bring about a meaningful change in the background, working together as a group and involving young people. Civic projects are aimed at increasing participation in public life and civic undertakings. Projects can be submitted by informal young groups consisting of at least 3 people. Submitted ideas will be implemented from July 1 to November 15.

The call for grant applications will run until June 2 or until the funds allocated for grants expire. It will be announced by June 15. Ideas requiring different levels of support, that can be submitted, are divided into four categories:

  • 4 micro-grants worth PLN 500 each;
  • 6 small grants of PLN 1,000 each;
  • 6 medium grants of PLN 2,000 each;
  • 3 large grants of PLN 5,000 each.

Training and workshops will be a significant factor of project implementation support. Several of such meetings are scheduled:

  • workshops on creating social projects, May 13-14 and 27-28, Hey!, 11 Peowiaków St;
  • instructive meeting on CYA, May 16, 5.00-7.00 pm, Hey!, 11 Peowiaków St;
  • CYA information webinar, May 23, 5.00-7.00 pm;
  • CYA Application Writing Marathon, May 29, Hey!, 11 Peowiaków St;

City Youth Activator will not support activities that are eligible for funding under other programmes implemented by City of Lublin. For example, artistic activities can be funded from a grant for youth project implementation in the field of artistic creativity or dissemination of culture or from the Youth Inspires Districts programme (Młodzież Inspiruje Dzielnice). Creative or integrative space at school can be supported by Creative Spaces programmes or through the School Citizens' Budget that also facilitates other activities aimed at school communities.

Details of the programme and information on how to apply can be found on City Youth Activator website.
