The Church of St. Prophet Elijah
Address: ul. Biernackiego 5
Place: Lublin
Post code: 20-089

The Carmelite monastery was erected in the middle of the 18th century in the Baroque style, in the place where a wooden chapel used to be. In the 19th century, it passed into the hands of the monks of Fatebenefratelli , who founded the hospital of St. John of God here. Reconstruction of the buildings for the needs of the hospital was made according to the design of architect Ferdynand Konotkiewicz in 1839. In 1864, the Order of Fatebenefratelli was dissolved and from then on the Sisters of Charity worked in the hospital (except the years 1893-1905). In 1969, the church was again taken over by the Carmelites.

Nowadays, the old monastery houses some of the wards of the provincial hospital.
