The Europa Hotel
Address: ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 29
Place: Lublin
Post code: 20-002

The edifice of the hotel was built in 1865-67 according to the design of governorate’s architect Ludwik Szamota. The building was a copy of the Warsaw Europa Hotel, but in Lublin it was one of the most representative buildings in the city. From its beginnings, the hotel has had reputation of a very elegant, modern, well-equipped and well-serviced facility. On the basis of the will of the Michelson family, it became the property of the Lublin Charity Society. After the destructions of World War II, the edifice was rebuilt and its former appearance preserved. For many years, in the building used to be the Tourist House run by the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK). In 2002, after completing the thorough renovation and adaptation carried out by Zomar SA Company and Tadeusz Fijałkowski, the building became the Europa Hotel again. The façade of the building is divided by pilasters and decorated with neoclassical architectural decoration with the belvedere accenting the corner. The façade decoration is a harmonious composition in which restored portrait medallions are inscribed.
