4.12 (Wed), 18.00 – Sainer – Modulations – exhibition opening

World-class muralist, painter and urban artist, Przemysław Blejzyk a.k.a Sainer opens his first individual exhibition in Poland. With his unique style, formed also as part of the Etam Cru duo, Sainer has introduced the symbiosis of realistic and fairy-tale elements into large-format painting and thus became one of the most original and, at the same time, popular artists of the genre.

6-8.12 (Fri-Sun) – Ukraine! Film Festival replica

The festival presents up-to-date Ukrainian culture, current trends in its cinematography, music and contemporary art. The goal of the festival is to “bring down the wall” of stereotypes and patterns of behaviour which hold both sides back from a new opening in the Polish-Ukrainian relations.

6-7.12 (Fri-Sat) – Jazz Bez Festival 2019

The first day of the Lublin edition of the festival will be devoted to the late Markiyan Ivashchyshyn – Lviv culture manager, founder of the legendary club Dzyga, who stood behind the idea of creating Jazz Bez as a network festival to promote jazz music on both sides of the Polish-Ukrainian boarder. The second day’s motto, Modern Music Weekend, reveals the idea behind its programme to show unique modern pehnomena in contemporary music of various genres.

6.12 (Fri), 19.00 – Mikołaj Smoczyński – The Secret Performance – exhibition opening

Mikołaj Smoczyński is one of the most recognised Lublin artists, who collaborated with the Labyrinth Gallery for many years. The exhibition organised 10 years after the artists passing is the first in the series, which will be looking back at his art. The photographs it will present come from the Gallery’s collection.

Festival of new noir and fantasy films will celebrate ambitious and uncompromising cinema. The programme of the fifth edition presents short and feature films, documentaries, meetings with artists and talks on the history of cinema.

11.12 (Wed), 20.00 – Odyn v Kanoe – concert

Ukrainian indie-folk group founded in 2010 in Lviv. It toured major cities in Ukraine, as well as Prague, Paris, Cambridge, Minsk, Moscow and Gdańsk. The band’s motto is minimalism and simplicity – it is manifested in everything: from the selection of instruments to their performance style.

13.12 (Fri), 19.00 –75th Anniversary of the Lublin Philharmonic – Gala Concert

The concert celebrating the anniversary features Lukas Geniušas, pianist born in Moscow, laureate of the 2 prize of the 16. International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 2010 and the honorary mention of the Frédéric Chopin Association for the best performance of the polonaise. In the programme pieces by Rossini, Rachmaninov, Beethoven.
