The first meeting of Depositaries of the European Heritage Label from Poland and representatives of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage took place in Lublin on May 5. It was an informational and promotional meeting.
The depositaries of the Label from Gniezno, Gdańsk and Lublin exchanged experience and discussed the best way to use this distinction. They also talked about creation of a Polish network of places important for the European Heritage. They pledged to use the Label’s logo and to promote it.
European Heritage Label – an initiative of the Member States’ Ministers of Culture was created 4 years ago. Now it is becoming a formal EU program. Being a EU program (like UNESCO World Heritage List or European Capital of Culture) it may be crucial the in creation of the European identity.
The participants of the meeting agreed that there is a need to create a shared area of culture that would result in better understanding between the European nations and in presenting the cultural richness of the region to broader audience.
