On May 23, the first match of the U-20 World Championship will take place at the stadium Arena Lublin. Last arrangements are being completed and Lublin will be ready to welcome fans from around the world. We still have tickets for football attractions. They can be purchased via the website pl.fifa.com.
Two years ago while the U-21 European Championship, we presented that Lublin managed to organise a big international event. Owing to this, the Polish Football Association, as well as FIFA, gave us an opportunity to organise 9 matches of The FIFA U-20 World Championship. Also for that reason, the stadium Arena Lublin was built - to greet sportsmen and fans from all over the world. The inhabitants of Lublin deserved such an important world-class event. So I warmly invite all fans, not only from Lublin, but also from the region, to the championship matches, because who knows - maybe in Lublin we will meet new world football stars – says Krzysztof Żuk, President of Lublin.
9 matches will be held in Lublin:
- Tahiti – Senegal (May 23 at 18.00),
- Honduras – New Zealand (May 24 at 18.00),
- Senegal – Columbia (May 26 at 18.00),
- Honduras – Uruguay (May 27 at 18.00),
- Columbia – Tahiti (May 29 at 20.30),
- Honduras – Norway (May 30 at 18.00).
On June 3 and 4 at 17:30 1/8 final matches will be played, and on June 11 – semi-final at 20.30. Ticket prices vary from 10 to 20 zlotys for group matches and from 20 to 30 zlotys for semi-final competitions. Tickets can be purchased via website pl.fifa.com. Public Polish TV (Telewizja Polska) will broadcast all events.
The best way to reach the stadium is a public transport. And if you have a ticket that day you may benefit from public transport free of charge. You may use the following bus numbers to get to the stadium: 1, 13, 30, 34, 45; trolleybuses: 151, 154, 161 and also a special line "Arena".
Fans with the vehicles may park at:
- Parking Gallery “VIVO!” - 1400 parking lots, walking time to stadium – 30 min,
- Parking Targ pod Zamkiem - 300 parking lots, walking time to stadium – 20 min,
- Parking at Plac Zamkowy - 150 parking lots, walking time to stadium – 30 min,
- Parking MOSiR al. Zygmuntowskie - 150 parking lots, walking time to stadium – 10 min.
During the tournament days there will be changes in the traffic organisation on Lubelski Lipiec 80, Cukrownicza and Muzyczna streets:
- The road traffic on Lubelski Lipiec 80, from Stadionowa to Cukrownicza street will be closed,
- BUSPASES (bus lanes) on Stadionowa and Muzyczna streets will be devoted to the Tournament Transport (organized groups, buses, VIP and cars with identifiers),
- Parking on the entire street sections will be banned.
Billboards, the FIFA U-20 World Championship flags have already been exposed in the city on Unia Lubelska, Krakowskie Przedmieście street, the access roads to the city and on the Aqua and Arena Lublin.
Information about the FIFA U-20 World Championship is displayed on monitors in public transport buses, in buildings of the City of Lublin, Resident Affairs Office and MOSiR Bystrzyca (City Sports and Leisure Centre) premises.
