Center for Culture in Lublin won the 1st prize in the 2nd edition of the “Polska Pięknieje – 7 cudów Funduszy Europejskich” contest. The Center received the award for Jagiellonian Fair promoting the shared heritage of the East and West.
The Fair was awarded in the „Transborder and International Tourism” category. It was one of the most popular categories this year, 22 projects competed for the prize. The best projects were chosen by a chapter led by Anita Noskowska-Piątkowska, from the Ministry of Regional Development. The projects were awarded in seven categories: Catering/Tourist Facility, Revitalization, Monument (Lublin Museum was nominated for the project concerning the protection and conservation of the Lublin Castle), Promotional Product, Active Tourism, Transborder and International Tourism, and Tourism in Rural Areas. The winners were announced on Thursday, May 7th at the Royal Castle in Warsaw during the 2nd European Funds Forum. Jagiellonian Fair was represented by Piotr Zieniuk (coordinator), Karolina Waszczuk (artistic coordinator) and Agnieszka Wojciechowska (PR and marketing coordinator). TApart from the beautiful statuette and the prestige, the prize means further publicity for Lublin, as there are promotional movies, catalogues, exhibitions etc. The contest is commissioned by the Ministry of Regional Development and organized by Smartlink (specializing in promotion of European Funds and good practices) and Pascal Publishing House (a leading tourist guide publisher).
