The Night of Culture
03.12.200811:19

On the night of 7/8 June, Lublin will offer a unique socio-cultural event, which is another step towards the title of the European Capital of Culture 2016. The Night of Culture is a cultural manifestation of our city. Lublin will live in the rhythm of art and artists, just like one year ago. Not only the city centre will be involved, but also its districts (Czuby, Czechów, Bronowice, Kalinowszczyzna), places known and unknown; cultural institutions will stay open for everyone until the morning hours. Theatres, museums, galleries, philharmonics, libraries, garisson club, concert halls, streets and squares of the city, as well as professional and independent artists, musicians, actors, painters and poets will be expecting visitors. Moreover, Lublin’s pubs, clubs and hotels are cooperating with the organizers.
“On this June night, we want culture to be visible in the streets. We would like to make the large public more familiar with the cultural activity in the city so as to stimulate their artistic sensitivity and encourage an active participation in the cultural life” – explain the initiators. To admire Lublin at night and participate in what makes the atmosphere and extraordinary climate of our city – this is the idea behind this unique night. It’s all about opening the city to the people sensitive to art, interested in culture, but also to those, who want to familiarize themselves with a cultural Lublin. This year, the Night of Culture will begin as early as at 4 p.m. and will last until the morning hours.
