Student Culture Days start on Wednesday, May 6. The event begins with a colorful parade organized by the student governments of Lublin universities. It starts at 2.00 pm and goes through the city centre to Litewski Square, where the mayor symbolically gives the students the control over the city (a symbolic gesture of handing in the keys to the city gates).
The opening concert - Futureheads, Muchy and Flit starts at 6.00 pm at the Castle Square.
The Futureheads is a popular indie rock band from Sunderland. Their music is referred to as the new rock revolution or indie punk. Muchy is a band from Poznań inspired by the likes of The Smiths, The Velvet Underground, Modest Mouse, Guided by Voices or Republika. Flit, from a Ukrainian town Ivano-Frankivsk, is a representative of the punk-rock scene.
