Spectacles/cinema
Gardzienice Centre for Theatre Practices invites you to the performance "Wyzwolenie". It is based on the drama by Stanisław Wyspiański. On the other hand, Osterwa Theatre in Lublin suggests to see "Wieczór Trzech Króli" on Sunday afternoon. The play is both with audio description and translation. This weekend in the Centre for Culture, there will be three excellent staged dance performances. On Friday "If/Then" by the Lublin Dance Theatre, on Saturday, "ONE Durski Kania Stanek Ustowska" and on Sunday the Rozbrak theatre and their performance "Rozkosz". Bajka Cinema invites for the film screening "Szatańskie Tango". It is a Hungarian art drama film directed by Béla Tarr. Shot in black-and-white, it runs for more than seven hours. It is based on the novel Satantango by Hungarian novelist László Krasznahorkai. Bajka cinema will also prepare snacks during breaks.
Concerts
We invite you to the Crown Tribunal for the concert "Wielkie Transkrypcje" performed by the Harmonium group. Hubert Giziewski and Iwo Jedynecki will present compositions of works by Moniuszko, Borodin or Lutosławski. Music performed by the accordion duo immediately absorbs the attention of the listeners and is always received with a great enthusiasm by the audiences on all the continents. The Lublin Federation of Bards will appear in the Philharmonic within the “Artyści estrady” project. It refers both to the origin of classical and ethnic music and to the ambitious trends of world rock and pop. If you want to hear a mixture of classical and ethnic instruments with electronics, we invite you to Lublin Night Impro at the Centre for Culture. Friday evening is also an opportunity to go to a Christmas concert performed by Warsaw Sentimental Orchestra.
Exhibitions
Centre for the Meeting of Cultures invites you to the exhibition “Społeczeństwo”. You may get acquainted with the city image after 1956 and what affected the identity of contemporary Lublin. In Brain Damage Gallery, though, there will be an individual exhibition of Sainer. He is a leading muralist, painter who currently lives and works in Gdynia, Poland. The vernissage of the exhibition is on Saturday. On the other hand, the exhibition "O codzienności w sztuce" is a collection of contemporary art from Towarzystwo Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych in Lublin. You may see the works in Galeria Labirynt from this Friday to January, 19. We also offer to visit an exhibition summarizing this year's workshops and plein-air photography events performed within "Kreatywni w Fotografii" project. 21 works will be presented on December 14 at Galeria Pod Schodami in Czechów District Culture Centre.
Workshops
You will be able to make wreaths and Christmas cards during special workshops run by Lotne Babki. Moreover, you will also have the chance to make cards during calligraphy workshops at the House of Words. Whereas, during classes at Municipal Public Library branch 29, you will try to perform candles yourself. The workshops “Alchemia Pachnidła” organised by “Co Ludzie powiedzą” Cafe, will be the occasion to create unique perfumes.
Meetings/walks
We cordially invite you to the next meeting of "Czechowski klub książki" project. This time the works of Mariusz Szczygieł will be discussed. All book worms are welcome! Photo enthusiasts are invited to another meeting from Akademia Odkryć Fotograficznych series. The Osterwa Theatre team invites all the interested ones to take part in a shared carolling on Sunday. On Friday, "Via Jagiellonica" Foundation invites for walk "Lublin of the Jagiellonian Union".
Sport
On Sunday, let’s take active part in "Chęć na pięć" run in Czechów Południowy district. Before the run, traditionally, the youngest runners will compete in "Przez metry po kilometry" race. Lublin University of Second Age invites you to another event from the "Spacery po zdrowie" series.
For children
Actors from the Andersen Theatre offer to visit the Moomin's world with the most interesting and catching stories about Moomins. The youngest viewers will be able to learn about contemporary art world due to workshops “Labirynt znaków” at Galeria Labirynt. It will be conducted in Polish Sign Language and translated into Voice Polish Language. Fabryka Fantazji Klubokawiarnia invites you to Christmas workshops. You will be able to create gingerbreads and others with your kids.
Others
If you don't have Christmas gifts for your loved ones yet, you'll have the opportunity to buy some original items this weekend. On Sunday, Workshops of Culture invite you to do Christmas shopping. The Christmas edition of Unique Items Market that is taking place on 15 December 2019 will be accompanied by DIY workshops. In the spirit of Christmas last-minute gift shopping, you will get some non-banal presents. The stalls will feature items produced in single copies or very limited editions that have been designed and made by local designers, artists and creative entrepreneurs. Hand-made products can also be found at the fair organised by Lubartowska 77 and "KIERMASZuń". The III International Dog Show is organised at Lublin Fair. It will be a real treat for those who love pets.
