Spectacles/cinema

We want to invite to the performance of “Autobiography” by Company Wayne McGregor. British Dancers will perform at the Opera Hall of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures on November 16th and 17th, 2019. We will once again have the opportunity to see a “large scale” performance. On the other hand, the Old Theatre presents the spectacle 'Madame de Sade' directed by Maciej Prus. The main protagonists are women from de Sade's surroundings his wife, her sister, mother-in-law and three others. Great actors: Ewa Wiśniewska, Dominika Kluźniak, Beata Ścibakówna, Milena Suszyńska, Aleksandra Justa and Anna Gryszkówna will host the evening.

Concerts

On Friday at the Philharmonic, we will meet at “Narodowy Koncert Listopadowy” to mark the end of the celebrations of the 450th anniversary of the Lublin Union. We will listen to songs performed by the Lublin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ms. Urszula Bobryk. The winners of “Lubelska Wiosna Młodych” will present themselves during the concert. The Polish Radio Orchestra conducted by Maciej Sztor will perform a “Film Music Concert/Koncert Muzyki Filmowej” dedicated to the work of Hans Zimmer. The solo parts will be sung by Anna Lasota whereas the story will be told by Magda Miśka-Jackowska. The whole projection will be enhanced with film parts on the cinema screen.

The Basilica of the Dominicans invites you to another concert from "Fonie Lublina" series dedicated to the work of Stanisław Moniuszko. This time a wide review of Polish religious works will be presented.

At the Center for the Meeting of Cultures, we will hear Inga Lewandowska with the "Chopin Songbook" recital, Piotr Selim with the band and the guest performance of debuting singer Anna Futa. This concert, inaugurating the “Lubelski Salon Artystyczny”, will be hosted by music journalist Piotr Wróblewski.

Exhibitions

“Ergo Sum's Journey" is a collective exhibition of the finalists "Artystyczna Podróż Hestii" competition. We invite you to Galeria Biała for the exhibition vernissage this Friday. The works can be seen until December 31.

Workshops

We invite all contemporary dance lovers to workshops during the International Dance Theatre Festival. It will be conducted by Festival Guests. This opportunity cannot be missed! TypoLub and House of Words offer bookbinding, paper and calligraphic workshops for those interested in knowing the ins and outs of books. Meeting at the Printing Chamber's paper mill or book binding using appropriate machines from the beginning of the 20th century will be an unforgettable experience.

An unusual event has been prepared by the State Museum at Majdanek. “Majdanek w obiektywie” is a photographic open air meeting combined with a competition for the best photos.

Meetings

The Ukraine in the Centre of Lublin, a 4-day-festival, is a manifestation of different faces of contemporary Ukrainian culture. During festival concerts, emerging and promising Ukrainian groups perform various music styles coupled with interesting musical interpretations. More art forms featuring at the festival are theatre performances and film screenings, exhibitions, and art sessions. We invite you to the Museum of Józef Czechowicz for a meeting and promotion of the book "Prowincja Noc. Wiersze wybrane Józefa Czechowicza". It is an unusual volume, containing manuscripts, hand-made drawings of the poet and multiple photographs. "Żydowski Lublin w okresie powojennym" is, however, the subject of the next series of meetings in the “Jeshiva of Lublin Sages”. In Dosłowna bookshop there will be a meeting around two collections of Polish poetry, with their editors: Andrzej Sosnowski and Piotr Śliwiński. Rafał Rutkowski will host the evening. We will recall the participants and correspondents of Sejm of the Union of Lublin in Europe during the "Zaduszki Sejmu Unii Lubelskiej" together with the Via Jagiellonica Foundation.

Sport

All the Bike Lovers, who missed the 4th edition of “Lubelski Maraton Turystyczny” or wish to challenge this route once again, are invited to the “Marathon-Encore” that is organised by Rowerowy Lublin. If you are, however, enthusiasts of running long distances, we invite you to confront “Druga Dycha do Maratonu” - 10 km run taking place on Sunday noon. On Saturday, AZS UMCS Lublin will face the leader KS Gredar Futsal Team Brzegi. The match will be a really interesting event because AZS has won the last two meetings and is aiming for the third victory in a row.

For children

As part of Andersen's Birthday, we invite children, teenagers and students to take part in a special journalistic workshops led by Magdalena Lipiec-Jaremek. She has been reporting on the Andersen Theatre on Radio Lublin for many years. We invite kids aged 3-6 to a workshop inspired by a book, “Look Book”. The workshop is dedicated to beautiful, interesting and original books for the youngest. The hero of each meeting is a different, specially selected book. The participants have a chance to see that a little bit of fantasy is enough to enjoy a book and be inspired by it. The gallery also includes Tiny Artist classes-creative workshop with elements of English language learning for kids aged 3-6.

Others

The Jagiellonian Fair in the middle of autumn? Everything is possible. And this is due to the dance party and all inhabitants are invited to! We suggest to visit the Open Air Village Museum where you will be able to see the performance "Pierzak” played by amateur actors. For the youngest there will be game "Gąski, gąski do domu" and all participants will have an opportunity to take part in art workshops.
