Lublin for the weekend November 29-December 1

At the weekend, we invite you to the 29th “St Nicolas Day International Festival of Folk Music” in Academic Culture Centre “Chatka Żaka” and to the Centre for the Meetings of Culture. This is Poland’s oldest and one of the largest festivals showcasing music inspired by folklore. During three days of concerts, meetings and workshops we will hear Dagadana, Kalakan, Romengo and the Orchestra of St. Nicolas.

Concerts

This weekend, Lublin Philharmonic invites you to “Marcin Wyrostek symphonic" concert. The repertoire is based on the latest 'Polacc' album and is inspired by Polish traditional music, as well as by world-class compositions. Music Theatre in Lublin offers a concert “From Opole to San Remo”. It will cover the greatest hits of Maryla Rodowicz, Violetta Villas, Anna Jantar and Danuta Rinn. On Friday, Bronowice District Culture Centre invites to a musical feast - a concert by Agnieszka Hekiert with a band. Moreover, the same day in the morning, the singer will conduct a vocal workshop "Sing like a star".

Spectacles/cinema

This year, Lublin Film Festival offers futuristic cinema - VR movies. With special goggles, you will have a chance to see selected movies in completely new dimensions. On Sunday, the Old Theatre invites to the film "Łowcy czarownic". It is a family adventure cinema telling a story of friendship and acceptance of differences. Centre for Culture offers a special documentary screening "Walka: Życie i zaginiona twórczość Stanisława Szukalskiego" with the participation of director and producers Irek and Anna Dobrowolscy.

Exhibitions

The exhibition "Memu Miastu" is taking place in the “Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre” Centre. The album takes the audience back to the times of excellent Polish photographers who were associated with Lublin such as Edward Hartwig, Jan Bułhak or Stanisław Jacek Magierski. Furthermore, on Saturdays we invite you to the jubilee exhibition "From the perspective of years. People and events" at the Museum of Martyrology "Pod Zegarem". Excellent watercolor works "Chwile zatrzymane” by Michał Suffczyński will be presented in the library as part of the "Sztuka w oknach" series.

Workshops

Przedsiębiorczy Lublin invites all ladies to workshops concerning social media and internet marketing. You will learn how to promote your business yourself. Winter is coming! Therefore, Powłóczeni invite you to "Czapkowarsztaty" where you can create your own, warm and cute hats. You will also gossip with other people over a tea or coffee. This time, Kreatywni w Fotografii invite you to a meeting during which you will have the opportunity to make photos of Lublin from the deck of the Victoria Hotel. On the other hand, Babska Rebelia encourages all women to participate in a photographic walk around Lublin Open-Air Village Museum as part of “Kobieta Renesansu” project.

Meetings/walks

Studnia Pamięci invites you to cyclical Sunday meetings in the Yeshiva of the Sages of Lublin. This time you will learn more about the so-called "babiniec" during the lecture "Our Ezrat naszim (babiniec) as a real space". Empik at Lublin Plaza offers to all detective stories’ lovers a question and answer meeting with Katarzyna Puzyńska, the author of "Pokrzyk", "Nora" and "Czarni Narcyzi". The meeting promises to be extremely interesting! On Friday guided tour, the Foundation "Via Jagiellonica" invites you for a walk "Lublin Jagielloński". On Saturday, though, Workshops of Culture invite all the interested ones to a magical, full of photos walk following the footsteps of Edward Hartwig.

Sport

Despite the weather outside, we encourage you to get up from the couch and try to exercise outdoors! And after a walk, we will provide you with basketball emotions during the match U! NB AZS UMCS Start II Lublin - Dziki Warszawa.

For children

Galeria Labirynt invites to "Art Detectives" – workshops for children that combine various arts techniques with the basics of English. Whereas, Centre for Culture invites small cinema fans to the third film edition “Przygody Basi”.

Others

Lublin Jazz and Centre for Culture invite lovers of different genres of music to the next edition of “Giełdy płyt i wydawnictw muzycznych”. While Kolorowe Jarmarki at Lublin Fair is an opportunity to do pre-Christmas shopping, meet folk art and regional products. "Manna z nieba" is the main theme of the Saturday Lublin Fair.
