Spectacles/cinema

We invite you to the Old Theatre for the spectacle "7 minutes". The two characters talk to each other in a mysterious space. Chatka Żaka Academic Culture Centre invites you to the 17th Polish National Theatre Festival "IMPRO Contests". The programme includes debates, workshops and meetings. Centre for the Meeting of Cultures offers to see "Ghost Town Anthology", a new film by the Canadian director Denis Côté. The story takes place in a small town of Irénée-les-Neiges with population only 215 inhabitants. The sleepy atmosphere of this place is disturbed by a car accident during which a teenage boy dies. It soon turns out that this is just the starting point of strange events taking place in the city. The Centre for Culture presents a film “Parasite”. It is a 2019 South Korean satirical black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho. Parasite had its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2019, where it won the Palme d'Or, becoming the first Korean film to receive the award and the first film to win with a unanimous vote. We invite you to the Sensory Art Festival for Children "Pajdokracja". It will be held for the second time at the Centre for Culture. A five-day, interdisciplinary celebration of the senses. Performances, installations and plays emphasize the need for closeness and family life. The festival eliminates the distance between the youngest and the creator. We encourage you to participate in the event from 17 to 21 October.

Concerts

It is also worth visiting the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" in the Musical Theatre this weekend. It is based on the prose of the writer Szolem Alejchem and shows the everyday life of the inhabitants of Anatewka. The plot is set in the realities of tsarist Russia. Lubelska Akademia Muzyki Dawnej invites you to a concert of the band Aetas Baroca within Anima Mundi series. Sztuczka Organisation and the Centre for Culture invite for a special morning with live music "Breakfast on the piano" by Tomasz Bielski.

Exhibitions

Galeria Biała presents an exhibition "New Earth and 64 Short Stories" by Edna Baud, Michał Chudzicki and Marta Szulc. It consists of three artistic perspectives with painting as the main medium. On the other hand, Galeria Labirynt recommends the exhibition “Three Plagues: Other or madness of reason – curatorial guided tour in Polish". Participation in the guided tours is free of charge. An unusual, interactive shade installation Machinarium for children and adults is being presented at the Centre for Culture. It consists of 3D shadows and colorful light collages. It is time to play together and experiment with the shadow theatre now! All history enthusiasts are invited to Targi Lublin for the 4th edition of the historical exhibition "Military". The purpose of the event is to present the historical knowledge, tradition and Polish heritage to young generations.

Workshops

The Szpilka Foundation invites you to the workshops of creating magical paintings. Guitar workshops at Chatka Żaka Academic Culture Centre is a great opportunity to learn or to polish how to play the guitar. Fundacja Piękno Panie offers a series of free trainings and workshops “Od nowa wzór” for the representatives of the creative industries as well as for all the residents of Lublin.

Meetings/walks

Centre for Culture and the bookshop Dosłowna invite for a question and answer meeting with the author Jacek Podsiadło. Revolution is not dinner, but maybe dinner? Or a round table with 50 women and 2 men gathered to create a feminist team for the future activity? During this women's civic panel, its participants will talk about their important female characters. The Szpilka Foundation invites you to the lecture by Wiola Wejman "Art of Remembrance". During the meeting the speaker will tell you how to "store the memory". And another architectural walk around Lublin! This time you will be able to find out interesting facts about the first housing estates in Lublin. Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Company invites you for a walk with the guide "Jagiellonian Trail of the Lublin Union" whereas Inna Fundacja invites you for a walk around every nook and cranny of the Dziesiąta District, presented from the female perspective. You want to learn more about the history of the district and go back in time? Let’s meet to participate in the stroll.

For children

On Thursday at 5.00 p.m. parents and children are invited to the creative workshops: “Pachnące miasto" within the Children's Sensory Art Festival - Pajdokracja. There will be an opportunity to talk about Lublin and possibility to experience the city spirit through your senses! And this is all happening in the Centre for Culture! We also invite you to Rezerwat Dzikich Dzieci! Children 7+ will be able to take part in the outdoor game on Sunday at 12.00. During the game, they will have an opportunity to move up to 2030 and to lock their future ideas concerning the city in hand-made jars. H. Ch. Andersen Theatre in Lublin invites you to the spectacle "The Jungle Book" based on one of the most beautiful and well-known stories for children. For over 120 years, it has moved and amused generations of readers. Workshops of Culture invite young artists to a unique meeting with a graphic painter and illustrator Robert Czajka as well as for an extraordinary meeting with the illustrator Anna Sarvira. The meetings are being held as a part of the Peekaboo exhibition for children. The Old Theatre invites the youngest to the spectacle "Skarb" directed by Leszek Mądzik.
