Magda Mayas (Germany) – concert for prepared piano

Magda Mayas is a pianist and curator whose musical investigations focus on the piano’s sonic possibilities. She employs various techniques, amplification and preparations, using both internal and external parts of the piano, to approach the abstract nature of sound as a physical phenomenon. As part of her ongoing research, Mayas founded Tasten-Berliner Klaviertage festival during which contemporary and innovative approaches for the piano are presented.
