Every now and again a discussion about the harmfulness of mass culture appears in the media. It usually follows a shooting or homicide, when the murderer is reported to have watched violent films or become addicted to computer games. Can pop culture really be that harmful? Can watching too many horror films or playing computer games really influence our psyche?
