‘Wirydarz’ Art Gallery invites to an exhibition of paintings by Pablo Caviedes.

It will be the first opportunity to see Caviedes’ works in Poland.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of His Excellency Fabián Valdivieso Eguiguren, the Ambassador of Ecuador.

Pablo Caviedes was born in 1971 in Cotacachi, Ecuador. He studied art at the College of Plastic Arts in Ecuador under Daniel Reyes, as well as at the prestigious Art Institute École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.

For the last 20 years he has shown his works in various cities of Ecuador and around the world in such places as Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Washington DC, and New York, where he currently lives and works.

He won the 1994 ¨Paris Prize¨ (the most prestigious award for young Ecuadorian artists). In 1998 was one of ten artists under 40 years of age chosen by a national, and later - international, jury to be part of the monumental, Latin America & the Caribbean: A New Generation Of Artist, exhibition. Then, in 2002 in Barcelona he obtained an honourable mention in the second Biennial International Exhibition of Painting ¨Vilassar del Mar¨. In 2004, Pablo was among 25 artists who were selected in a competition and whose works were exposed in a group show ¨Art in a Bottle¨ at the Agora Gallery in Soho, New York. In 2008 he took part in the 31st Small Works Art Competition (the 80 Washington Square East Galleries, NYU), and in 2009 he presented his works in the show Fusion: American Classics Meet Latin American Art, at the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware (USA). Also, his works were selected for the exhibition entitled: ¨Ecuadorian Contemporary Art¨ at United Nations, New York and he showed his art at the group exhibition: ¨ Ecuadorian Renaissance¨, at Queens Museum of Art in New York. In 2010, an installation by Caviedes was chosen for the Second Bronx Latin American Art Biennial in New York. In 2012, the artist’s animation entitled On the Map was chosen for an animated shorts festival, A Frame Apart at Queens Museum of Art in New York.

Caviedes is one of the most eminent exponents of Latin American Art who works in the USA.
The works, prepared especially for the NO-MA-DA exhibition in Lublin, can be seen until 17th June 2013.
