Dr Misio is a rock group formed by Arek Jakubik, scriptwriter, director and actor made famous by such films as Dom Zły (The Dark House), Drogówka (Traffic Department) and Jesteś Bogiem (You’re a God). Being a brilliant film-maker is not the only talent of Arek Jakubik, as we may discover by listening to him sing. Two eminent Polish artists are responsible for the literary side of Dr Misio’s success: Marcin Świetlicki, poet, musician, awarded a prestigious Polityka’s Passport and Krzysztof Varga, writer and journalist, winner of the Nike Audience Literary Award. The project is produced by Olaf Deriglasoff linked professionally to bands Apteka, Homo Twist and Yugoton. Mateusz Pospieszalski co-arranged two songs of Dr Misio: "Mentolowe papierosy” and “Pudelek”.
Dr Misio came into existence in June 2008.The band plays hard rock & roll. Powerful sound, heavy riffs, excellent lyrics combined with uncompromising attitude to music make the band innovative and appealing not only to die-hard rock fans but also to audiences looking for intellectual stimuli or deeper thought in music and who, at the same time, are open to new formats and appreciate good fun.
