Svjata Vatra Fire Show (Ukraine / Estonia)

Svjata Vatra is a band which combines musical cultures of the Ukraine and Estonia. Their characteristic feature is the use of particular folk instruments: Ukrainian trumpets and kosa dutkas meet Estonian lutes (kobzas) creating unique sound. The band’s Eastern spirit, derived from Cossack culture, is complemented by Nordic energy. Svjata Vatra is not only music, however. The band is currently presenting the Fire Show programme, a performance where the musicians present tricks with the use of fire, e.g. juggling blazing instruments or fighting with sabres in traditional Cossack style.
