Piotr Lorek „Urns” –– a unique exhibition of sculptures shaped as urns, which, lifeless in their form, become alive to the sound of music emitted from miniature speakers installed inside them. The two largest pieces form the gate that we use to enter into the space where smaller ceramic urns are sunk into various levels of the ground. Mirrors have been placed in the bottoms of some of the pieces and by looking into the depth of the ground we can see sky and trees, and our own figure reflected in them. This spatial arrangement is designed to harmonise softly with greenery and architecture, it is meant to lead us into the state of contemplation and meditation. The installation has also its own sound. The soundtracks are emitted by speakers placed in the large jugs.

Venue: square in front of the Andersen Theatre, the Dominican Monastery

Marian Oslislo “Posters”– the exhibition of posters by a well-known graphic artist and designer who has presented his works, among others, in Biennial in Moscow, Brno, Sofia, Bratislava, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, as well as in China and the USA. The artist specializes in artistic and applied graphics. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at Katowice branch of The Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. The posters presented at the Lublin exhibition are a selection representing a vivid artistic output of thirty years of Marian Oslislo’s work. In his posters (predominantly related to the subject of culture) the artist uses calligraphy in an intriguing way; he plays with its form, transforms it by combining it with seemingly casual drawing or, on another occasion, with simple geometric forms or with photography.
