Summertime Full Length (Letni Pełny Metraż)

Kategoria Film

Four consecutive August evenings will feature open-air screenings of full-length independent feature films selected from the main programme of the Full-Length Film Festival. The event is the only Polish festival dedicated to indie films, be they fiction or documentaries. At present, thanks to the utmost dedication of the filmmakers and the ever increasing technical quality of the movies, these alternative productions are becoming legitimate rivals of mainstream films and officially endorsed, i.e. state-funded, projects.
Created by movie enthusiasts and relying on original scripts penned by grass-roots cinema aficionados, these films are products of a genuine need of expression and a desire to contribute to the development of cinematography. As a result, they are authentic and important voices representing younger generations.

The Days Inbetween, dir. Stephan George
starring: Andrea Simon, Daniel Francis-Swaby, Lydia Orange, Dinarte Gouveia
drama/Great Britain/2012

The film is a study on the lives of four couples and the inter-relationships that take place between all of them. An in-depth psychological focus present in the movie aims to pinpoint the mechanisms of becoming that we are all prone to, the mechanisms that contribute to who we are at any given moment. Director S. George is a graduate of London's University of the Arts (major in film and video) and he has so far created a dozen of short films. Critically acclaimed, "The Days In-Between" is his debut full-length film.

Everything flows/Wszystko płynie, dir. Piotr Ivanov, Paweł Dziomdziora
starring: Piotr Kamont, Michalina Szymborska
fictionalised documentary/Poland/2011

A piece of filmic-musical impressionism - a journey of a lone wanderer who decides to abandon the hustle and bustle of big-city life(style) and sets out on a river cruise down the Vistula. The film's sole protagonist battles the elements, tackles technical problems and defies any other conceivable pitfall. His home is limited to his tiny boat and a trusty sleeping bag. Polish independent musicians provide a fascinating soundtrack to this one man's voyage.
