Four consecutive August evenings will feature open-air screenings of full-length independent feature films selected from the main programme of the Full-Length Film Festival. The event is the only Polish festival dedicated to indie films, be they fiction or documentaries. At present, thanks to the utmost dedication of the filmmakers and the ever increasing technical quality of the movies, these alternative productions are becoming legitimate rivals of mainstream films and officially endorsed, i.e. state-funded, projects.
Created by movie enthusiasts and relying on original scripts penned by grass-roots cinema aficionados, these films are products of a genuine need of expression and a desire to contribute to the development of cinematography. As a result, they are authentic and important voices representing younger generations.
Le Bonheur… Terre promise, dir. Laurent Hasse
documentary/France/2011
Laurent Hasse's first full-length documentary film. It is a narrative of a man on an impromptu trek from the south to the north of France. His ambitious walk is an attempt to go beyond the lifetime of his limitations, habits, and routine behaviour. Thanks to the help, hospitality and kindness of strangers that he encounters, he keeps on wandering undeviated from his goal - the goal of reaching happiness.
