The Animator International Animated Film Festival is the biggest and most interesting international festival of animated films in Poland, held under the patronage of the Municipality of Poznań. Every festival edition presents over 500 films from across the world, including retrospectives, theme reviews, premieres, screenings with live music or rarely shown works by animation pioneers. Along with festival screenings, an international animated short and feature films competition is held. Submitted from over 50 countries, competition entries are judged by an international jury. A distinctive feature of the festival is the emphasis it puts on the connections between animation and music. The Animator festival focuses not only on the latest works and current trends in animation; it presents historic achievements of world cinematography, too. Due to the courtesy of the Animator festival organizers, Kinoteatr will show films that won awards at the Animator Festival between 2008 and 2013.
