SIBERIAN IMPROVISATION COMPANY (Russia) is an avant-garde musical project founded by Alexander Markvart. Aesthetically, the band is close to contemporary improvised music. However, the music of SIC is undefinable, unique, and syncretic, containing elements of free jazz, noise, jazz punk, modern classical, and experimental electronica. The collective was officially established in 2011 and has been actively performing since then, clocking up 42 collaborations.
SIC has performed with: Joel Grip (Sweden), Pierre Borel (France), Ilia Belorukov, Raphaël Ortis), Louis Schild, Antoine Läng, Plaistow (Switzerland), Stefano Ferrian (Italy), Edyta Fil (Poland), Sergei Letov, Fedor Amirov, Alexei Borisov, St. Petersburg Improvisation Orchestra, Alexei Chichilin, Dmitry Bibikov, Denis Sorokin, Konstantin Gubenko, Nikolai Majewski, Olga Krukovskaya, ByZero, Stanislav Makovsky and many others.
So far Siberian Improvisation Company has recorded music for the Akt-Produkt label.
