Panel Discussion: „Transmission. On-line / off-line” +„Z/N Magazine: print edition”

„Transmission. on-line / off-line”, a panel discussion on analogue and digital modes of art presentation and reception, will be accompanied by the launch of the first ever edition of the Z/N magazine in its print form (paperback format). The discussion will centre around different forms of art presentation, display, and dissemination: institutionalised, gallery-based (cultural institutions, centres for culture, arts centres), net, online-based (portals, magazines, photoblogs etc.), print (periodicals, volumes of essays, proceedings etc.)

We are interested in the specificity of these media types, how they function, how they differ, what their target audiences are, how do they find their readers. We are equally eager to explore the concept of on-/offline existence and representation. To what degree is the net domain an active alternative to conventional, i.e. real-life, art presentation? Is being online tantamount to being offline in reality, in real life?

The Panel will comprise:

- Jacek Jaźwierski (Art Theory Faculty, Catholic University of Lublin),
- Piotr Pękala (Biała Gallery),
- Ludomir Franczak (Węglin Centre for Culture),
Waldemar Tatarczuk (Labirynt Gallery).

The discussion will be moderated by Marta Ryczkowska (Z/N Magazine). The discussion will be followed up by a Q and A session.
