The "Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre" Centre in Lublin and Photographic Studio/NN Gallery would like to invite viewers to an exhibition: Henryk Kuś "Simple Passed".
As a resident of the Wojciechów distrct, I have observed that, for the last 20 years, there has been a tendency to resign from traditional ways of farming, folk customs and even traditional human types. This time I have decided to convey this process through showing together wooden sheds from the 1960s and multicolored headscarves, worn by women in villages not long ago, especially during religious ceremonies. The exhibition is accompanied by my text: “Photography: not entirely flexible medium.”
Henryk Kuś – member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers; for the last 30 years a theorist and a practicing photographer. He is the author of more than 50 books on art and photography. He lectured on visual sociology, visual communication as well as history and theory of photography. He was a member of the board at the fs gallery in Biała Podlaska and at the Hybrydy Photo Gallery in Warsaw. The Minister of Culture scholarship holder in 2003 and the holder of the Gelderland Province (The Netherlands) grant obtained in 2008. Recent participant of the Photo-object exhibition at the Propaganda gallery in Warsaw (October 2013).
The exhibition will be accompanied by a presentation of a video clip of the NA TAK band "Człowiek", Album 13.
The band: Dorota Krempa (vocal, synthesizer), Sebastian Napierała (guitar, synthesizer, laptop, saxophone), Piotr Kala (bass guitar, lyrics).
The exhibition is on display until 05.01.2014 between 10:00-4:30 or at another time by prior arrangement.
