Concert: Jacek Prokopowicz Quartet
Jacek Prokopowicz – composer and pianist, member of the Hammond Appreciation Society. Co-worked and collaborated with among others Jarek Śmietana, Wojciech Waglewski, and Indios Bravos. This time around he will visit Lublin, accompanied by his own quartet (Marcin Skucz guitar, Michał Raczyński bass, Amadeusz Krebs drums). Together, they will present music featured on their latest album entitled „Spring's Wings”. The record is inspired by nature, which is reflected in its intriguing collage of jazz, soul, and cutting-edge sounds of today. Anna Drozd, curator of the music programme at the Old Theatre

The Jacek Prokopowicz Quartet is the sum of its four personalities that emanate intensive electric jazz energy, simultaneously narrating sing-along and melodious phrases. Each member of the group boasts impressive experience under his belt; their portfolios include jazz and blues festivals as well as studio and live collaboration with Polish and international stars, including: Jarosław Śmietana, Włodzimierz Pawlik, and Wojciech Waglewski. The quartet’s repertoire features only their original composistions that oscillate between jazz rock and fusion. They are characterized by advanced and complex rhythm and harmony as well as ever melodious themes and improvisations.
