"Immortal Beloved" ("Wieczna miłość"), directed by Bernard Rose, running time: 120’, 1994.
"Immortal Beloved" ("Wieczna miłość") is a tour de force of Gary Oldman, an undoubtedly outstanding actor and a master of creating multi-layered on-screen personalities. His portrayal of emotionally driven, complex, contradictory and nuanced Beethoven is a cinematic marvel. Equally engaging is the performance of his silver screen partner - Isabella Rossellini as well as the film score that stays with viewers long after they have left the cinema or switched off their DVD players.

Another installment of the Miasto Movie series of screenings.
Curators of the Miasto Movie series: Agnieszka Wojciechowska and Rafał Chwała
Miasto movie
A series of film screenings, in which the city does not just play a leading role, but provides background, gives context, becomes the catalyst for the narrative and becomes the film’s principal inspiration. “Here,” as the series’ curators assert, “the city speaks a number of languages.” The screenings are divided into theme-driven cycles: “City as a Dream”, “Urban Loneliness”, “Urban Spirituality”, “Miasto Movie in the Summertime”, “Analogue Miasto Movie”. Frequently, films are accompanied by live music or workshops. An easily digestible dose of auteur cinema in the Old Town. Free admission.
