Sonic Phenomena: Gaap Kvlt / We Will Fail
SONIC PHENOMENA
Sonic Phenomena is a series of concerts organised by the Centre for Culture in Lublin aimed at presenting the latest trends in experimental electronic music.
1. New music is guided by its own philosophy and our goal is to meet this philosophy halfway.
2. Music is a form of art and sounds are increasingly becoming a phenomenon beyond genres and conventions.
3. Sonic Phenomena is a common domain that consists of three initiatives in cooperation with the Centre for Culture in Lublin (ende neu / Kaiser Söze Foundation / Szklarnia). Its goal is to present the latest trends in experimental electronic music.
4. We are interested in the creative individual that exists beyond formal determinations and classical instrumentation.
5. Our task is to track sounds arising from the dynamics of a changing world.
6. We seek the yet unwritten score/score to be written.
Gaap Kvlt is conversant with the past, the present and the future. It carries bass, ambient drones and the winds from the desert. It mixes Middle-Eastern melodies full of warm air with the coldness of apprehension. It Defies compartmentalization and truly remains nonconformist. IT brings peace only to transform it into total chaos within a flip of a switch.
We Will Fail is a project that focuses on the pleasure of roaming. Field recordings, sampled tapes, noise, synthesisers, and electronic percussion are mixed together to form a weird composite that refers to the aesthetics of techno. With Aleksandr Grünholz – graphic designer by profession and musician by inclination – at the helm, We Will Fail is a project that is as captivating as it is kaleidoscopic.
