"Maria Full of Grace" ("Maria łaski pełna") – Joshua Marston’s feature tackles the highly complex and disturbing topic of the rapidly growing economic and social atomization between the so-called First World and all “the other worlds” populating the Earth. Maria, a young and destitute girl, lives in Bogota, Columbia, dreaming of a brighter future. To get out of the daily grind of her below-poverty-line existence, she decides to offer her services as a cocaine smuggler to a crime syndicate. Inexperienced, she steps in the world of high risk, high profit and a high price to be paid – often with one’s life and limb – for one’s mistakes.
