Start: 21.00 - Pink Freud

Founded in 1998, Pink Freud is one of the most original voices in contemporary jazz. The band is a big game changer and a major player on the modern music scene in Poland that paved the way for the younger generation of jazz musicians and introduced independent music to the mainstream. The band has been instrumental in re-defining jazz composition, making it once again valid, relevant and appealing to thrill-seeking and ambitious audiences. The music of Pink Freud defies conventions, going beyond the canon of improvisation. Thanks to a fusion of classic jazz instruments and cutting-edge electronic paraphernalia, the band incorporates a number of genres, ranging from punk rock and rock, to drum’n’bass, jungle and dub, to avant-garde electronica and sonic experimentation.

Consciously pushing the envelope and stretching the confines of genres, Pink Freud is noted for their collective improvisation that generates an aura of energy and subtle melodies that is highly appreciated by sensitive and searching audiences. Highly recommended.

start 23.00: after party: Envee feat. Jan Michalec

Envee – one of the most after-sought music producers in Poland, Maciej Goliński aka Envee is a DJ, musician and founding member of the producer collective Niewinni Czarodzieje (Innocent Sorcerers) that was established over a decade ago in 2003. A uniquely vibrant and positive personality of the Polish club scene. An advocate of time-defying music: his DJ sets encompass hissing vinyl archeology and up-to-date dance tracks that remain, however, far away from blatantly indiscriminate top charts. His is music of all time zones and geographies. Rhythms of jungles and sounds of cities. So far, he has collaborated among others with Tomasz Stańsko, Fisz, Kayah and Natalia Przybysz.

Jan Michalec – trumpeter inspired by the everlasting output of John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Keith Jarret, as well as by the ever-searching experiments of more contemporary artists, such as Dave Douglas, Nils Petter Molvaer, Roy Hargrove, and Robert Glasper. He is not limited by one genre or stylistic convention, though.

So far, he has worked with Raashan Ahmad, Abradab, Wienio, Te-tris, Zgas, Lion Vibration, Sinusoidal, Warsaw Balkan Madness, Kuba Sojka, Radicall, Dj Flush, Mori Norihiko & Shingo Suva, Kolektyw Impulse of Tunes, Marquez iLL. Member of 3 Birds Up, RuuR, Zebra Dub, Electro Acoustic Beat Session, Reso, Second Name.
