The second edition of the series "Lublin Sounds" organized by the Lublin Branch of the Association of Polish Musical Artists will focus on the work of Polish composers. The Polish style, whether in the music of the nineteenth century or later, has become a recognizable idiom in the world. Thanks to the protagonists of these musical meetings in the Crown Tribunal, the world has heard again and again about the works of Polish composers and had the opportunity to appreciate their often unique artistic values. Therefore, on the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence, we present you with a series of concerts, each dedicated to a different Polish composer.

The series of concerts is co-financed by the City of Lublin Office.

Ambassador of Independence
Ignacy Jan Paderewski

The Lublin Sounds series will end with a meeting with the work of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, not only his music but – perhaps above all – his Polish culture promoting activity. The event will be a kind of summary of our meetings with Polish music, since it is difficult to find in our history a more well-deserved man who promoted Polish culture in the world than the protagonist of this concert. His compositions are filled with national accents, and his political career was also guided by the idea of independence manifested in his music. Due to the unusual contribution of this man to the promotion of Polish culture both in Europe and overseas, we invite you to experience his vocal and instrumental compositions. To thoroughly understand the context of his activity, the concert will also present works both by composers whose work was promoted by Paderewski and by those who were inspired by his attitude.

Artists:

  • Ewa Biegas – soprano
  • Natalia Skipor – mezzosoprano
  • Grzegorz Biegas – piano
  • Introduction to music by Mariola Zagojska
