The exhibition shows over 80 outstanding paintings and sculptures by Polish artists. It offers an overview of styles and currents in Polish art, from the mid-nineteenth century, through the Young Poland period, the interwar years, the École de Paris and the emerging avant-garde.

The Collection of Polish Masters shows a variety of themes and styles. It includes oil paintings, pastels, drawings as well as bronze and plaster sculptures. The subjects of the works include self-portraits, portraits, acts, still life, genre scenes, landscapes and studies. This selection features artists who had the greatest influence on the development of modern Polish painting.

This unique collection of Young Poland masters from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries includes artworks by Julian Fałat, Jan Stanisławski and Leon Wyczółkowski.

The art of the interwar period is shown in a multithreaded way. The exceptional paintings by Eugeniusz Zak, Leopold Gottlieb, Mela Muter, Tadeusz Makowski, Władysław Ślewiński and avant-garde Leon Chwistek alongside the sculptures by artists such as Boleslaw Biegas and Xawery Dunikowski present a very diverse and intriguing picture of the developments in art of the period.

The exhibition is on display until 17 June 2018.
