Literary Meetings in Lublin - „City of Poetry” 2014

Józef Czechowicz became the spiritual patron of the poetic meetings in Lublin and the award granted by the “City of Poetry” is called “Stone” („Kamień”), just like the first volume of Czechowicz's poetry published in 1927. The poetry-related meetings, actions and events are organised at universities, in libraries, cultural centres, on streets, in park lanes, on squares, bus stops, Polish State Railways stations, in social care institutions, hospitals, at schools, in churches, galleries, cafés and inside trolleybuses. During the poetic meetings, the Internet is used to reach the broadest audience possible. Traditionally, dozens of poems are painted on Lublin pavements during the “City of Poetry” events.
