Two great events, i.e. Lublin IT Days and CHECK IT, are going to be held this year in the context of Lublin IT Upland Days. They will promote the IT sector and inform their participants about the cutting-edge IT solutions.

“We have invited students of all academic milieus to take part in the organisation of this year’s Lublin IT Upland Days. I am glad that these are students who involve in these events the most because they are the indispensable potential for ICT development in Lublin. The IT sector has already been the most quickly developing industry of our city’s economy,” says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin.

Lublin IT Upland Programme implemented by the Lublin Municipal Office is supposed to highlight the potential and favourable conditions for the development of IT industry in Lublin. First and foremost, it aims at promoting the local IT sector through creation of mutual relations in scientific and business milieus related to IT and ICT in cooperation with the local authorities. Lublin IT Upland promotes series of actions undertaken by universities, research circles, companies and other entities linked to this industry, such as e.g. ICT Eastern Cluster.

The first event- Lublin IT Days- is going to be held on May 6 in Lublin Science and Technology Park. This is a huge professional conference addressed to students, people working in IT companies and everybody interested in new technologies. This year, it will be the 7th edition of this project. Lublin IT Days are organised by the IT Scientific Circle of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.

“We have invited exceptional IT specialists. The floor will be taken by representatives of international corporations and local companies, practitioners who deal with new technologies on a regular basis. Participants will acquire knowledge, among others, about mobile technologies, 3D printers or open software and hardware development. I am persuaded that each participant will find something interesting,” convinces Piotr Pietras, event coordinator.

Within Lublin IT Upland Days, the new project has appeared on the municipal map of professional events. CHECK IT is aimed at secondary school students, fans of new technologies and those who are not yet properly familiar with the IT world.

“The event aims at attracting young people’s attention to technological innovations, getting them familiar with principles of creating computer games or basic rules related to the functioning of devices which they use on a daily basis. We want to show that IT means more than what they learn at school. The majority of workshops and lectures will be held by students who are members of the Lublin universities’ research circles. Thus, the event will have the character of sharing the passion,” says Mariusz Sagan, Director of the Department of Strategy and Investor Assistance at the Lublin Municipal Office.

It is the first time that CHECK IT is being organised by the Lublin Municipal Office in a close cooperation with the Lublin universities’ IT research circles. The event is going to take place on May 12 at Lublin Science and Technology Park at ul. Dobrzańskiego 3 in Lublin.
