Information clause concerning the processing of personal data based on a legal obligation incumbent on the administrator (with regard to The Population Registration Act of 24 September 2010).
The administrators are:
- The Minister of Digital Affairs, ul. Królewska 27, 00-060 Warsaw, is responsible for maintainance and development of the PESEL number.
- The Minister of the Interior and Administration, ul. Stefana Batorego 5, 02-591 Warsaw, is responsible for setting up the common policy with regard to enforcement the obligations specified in the Act.
- The Mayor of Lublin is obliged to be in control over data processed in paper documentation and other data collections run by the civil registration authority.

The Minister of the Interior and Administration can be contacted in writing, sending a correspondence to the Ministry seat.

The Minister of Digital Affairs has appointed the Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted via e-mail or, sending a correspondence to the Ministry of Digital Affairs seat.
The Minister of the Interior and Administration has appointed the Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted via e-mail or, sending a correspondence to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration seat.
The Mayor of Lublin has appointed the Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted via e-mail or, sending a correspondence to the data Administrator.
The above mentioned Data Protection Officers can be contacted in all matters concerning the processing of personal data and exercising the rights related to the processing of personal data.
Your data will be processed for:
- Registration in case of:
- assigning or changing a PESEL number,
- changing in marital status, name or surname, death,
- changing a nationality,
- issuing a new ID card or passport,
- changing of a foreigner's travel document.
- Residence registration consisting in:
- registering in the place of permanent or temporary residence,
- deregistering from the place of permanent or temporary residence,
- notification of departure and arrival outside Poland.
- Obtaining a certificate on your own data collected in the PESEL register.
- Removing data inconsistency.
Your data will be processed on the basis of The Population Registration Act.
Your personal data may be made available to authorised entities in accordance with the provisions of The Population Registration Act: services, public administration bodies, courts and prosecutor's office, court executive officer, state and self-government organisational units and other entities - to the extent necessary for the performance of public tasks; persons and organisational units, if they demonstrate a legitimate interest therein; organisational units, for research and statistical purposes, public opinion polling if after using the data, they will be modified to such extent that will preclude the identification of data subjects; other persons and organisational units if they demonstrate an interest in receiving the data, provided that they obtain the consent of the data subjects.
The recipient of the data is also the Centre for Document Personalization of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in making the data accessible to you.
The data contained in the PESEL register and the Register of Residents will be processed indefinitely.
You have the right to access your data and to request their rectification as well as to access the data of people under legal guardianship, e.g. the children's data.
You are also entitled to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, in the work place or in the place of alleged infringement.
You data are entered to PESEL register by following authorities:
- the manager of the registry office drawing up a birth certificate, marriage, and death certificate as well as amending the documents, and issuing a decision about first name/ surname change,
- the municipal authority making the residence registration,
- the municipal authority issuing or annulling ID card,
- the Voivode or the Consul of the Republic of Poland issuing or annulling a passport,
- the Voivode or minister in charge of internal affairs making changes in acquiring or losing Polish citizenship.
The obligation to disclose personal data stems from The Population Registration Act.
