Ukrainian tragedy is still happening.
Humanitarian aid shipping for Ukraine from Western Europe and people who escaped from the attacked country are reaching Lublin constantly. Yesterday (March 8), goods arrived from our partner cities Munster and from French cities, including Nancy. The transport of donations from Switzerland (containing sleeping bags intended for Ukraine) was being overloaded in the presence of J.E. Juerg Burri, Swiss Ambassador to Poland.
The meeting was attended by Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Stanowski, Head of the International Cooperation Centre, Father Stefan Batruch, Foundation of the Spiritual Culture of the Borderland and the representatives of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit in Lublin. The discussion concerned the support and cooperation development as part of humanitarian aid for struggling with War Ukrainian people.
Modern Expo provided its warehouse located in the Special Economic Zone for the storage and shipment of gifts. So far, 10 trucks with medical supplies and equipment, medicines and hospital equipment have arrived in Lublin from Switzerland. Subsequently, the transport sets off to the most dangerous and at the same time, the war-torn regions in Ukraine.
The scale of european aid and solidarity for Ukraine, its inhabitants, and also for Poland, is comforting in these hard and very challenging times.
We would like to thank our partner cities and all partners for a great cooperation!
