On February 27, 2024, two city buses donated by the Lublin partner city Münster were handed over at the bus depot in Lublin.

The buses will go to Vinnytsia in Ukraine, where they will serve in the city's public transport. The idea of supporting Vinnytsia with city buses from Münster was born during last year's visit of Mayor Markus Lewe to Vinnytsia.

Münster, with the organizational support from Lublin, has been providing assistance to Vinnytsia since the beginning of 2023. On March 9, 2023, in the presence of Vinnitsa representatives, an official declaration of cooperation in the field of assistance to Ukraine was signed between Lublin and Münster and later on Münster signed a bilateral agreement on solidarity partnership with Vinnytsia.

In 2023, Münster, via Lublin, provided Vinnytsia with, among others: high-power generators, a mini loader, 2 cars with rehabilitation equipment, mobile kitchens, durable food and dishes worth approximately EUR 100,000.

Münster has been Lublin's partner city since 1991 and the letter of intent on cooperation between Vinnytsia and Lublin was signed in 2013. Vinnytsia is located approximately 200 kilometres southwest of Kyiv and has been the target of Russian missile attacks multiple times since the outbreak of the full scale Russian aggression on Ukraine.
