On June 5-17, an exhibition commemorating the 700th anniversary of Vilnius will be held at Litewski Square in Lublin.
"Friendship and centuries-old ties bind Lublin and Vilnius. It is no coincidence that the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth was signed in our city. That epoch-making treaty was historically unique and it was a successful attempt to build a lasting order in relations between different nations, cultures and religions. In recent years, Lublin and Vilnius’ cultural institutions have done a number of ambitious and interesting projects. Joint Lublin-Vilnius Night of Culture is an excellent example of this. Such partner collaboration brought fruit when we signed a twinning agreement in 2019. At that time, we celebrated the 450th anniversary of the Union of Lublin — one of the key accords defining the European community, and a base for the European Union as we know it today" - says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin
We cordially invite all Lublin inhabitants and visitors to the exhibition vernissage on June 7 at 12:00. Moreover, Mr. Eduardas Borisovas, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Poland will participate in this event.
The exhibition was prepared in cooperation with International Tourism and Business Promotion Agency "GO Vilnius" and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Poland.
