International aid to Ukraine

International aid to Ukraine
09.03.202209:40

The war in Ukraine triggers human solidarity and an irresistible desire to reach out and help others. As Ukrainians flee in massive numbers, Lublin residents have opened their homes with unprecedented speed and generosity.

Therefore, the Mayor of Lublin petitioned Lublin's partner and friend cities to provide all achievable help and support, most of all, to those who are still in Ukraine. As a result, our city receives shipping with the most essential goods from all over Europe, both from cities and from international NGOs and government authorities. They are being transferred successively, first of all, to partner cities of Lublin in Ukraine.

As part of humanitarian aid for Ukraine, Lublin has received, among others, shipping with the most required articles:

  •     France: 13 trucks from Nancy and Grand Nancy (France), 9 trucks from Protection Civil organisation,
  •     Germany: 7 trucks from Munster City Hall,
  •     Switzerland: 9 trucks from Swiss Humanitarian Aid - Ukraine,
  •     Italy: 1 vehicle from the town of Rovello Porro.

Next shipment of relief goods will arrive in the coming days. This aid is transferred immediately to Ukraine. 8 trucks and 5 buses have already left for Ukrainian cities.

Moreover, the Förderverein Münster-Lublin Association raised EUR 60,000, to be donated to Lublin NGOs operating within the Lublin Welfare Committee for Ukraine.

We wish to pay our respect and show our gratitude to all international partners for their engagement in providing humanitarian aid for the fighting Ukraine.
