Six major initiative principles for young people and five guidelines of city development were included in Lublin's first youth policy. The document rounds off the implemented Lublin 2030 Strategy and figuratively closes 2023 when Lublin held European Youth Capital 2023 title.
Report "The City of Youth. Lublin's Youth Policy" defines key values and approaches of young people. Moreover, it also embodies guidelines for all entities cooperating with and for young people as well as ensures the integrity of all youth activities scheduled by the City of Lublin until 2030. The recipients of Lublin's youth policy are young people (aged 13 to 26), who study, work and live in Lublin, chase their dreams and spend their leisure time here. Yet, among the six principles, Lublin's youth policy includes the principles of diversity, subjectivity, open-mindedness, equality, community and safety. In terms of needs of young people and people working with youth, the document also outlines five directions which the city should take.
The most significant subjects that emerged during research and social consultations include topics related to well-being and health prevention, inclusive and ecological public transport, educational quality, accessibility and an innovative, sustainable labour market.
Lublin was the first city in Poland to hold the honorable European Youth Capital title. Lublin developed the "The City of Youth. Lublin's Youth Policy" report in a participatory process by fulfilling the commitments originating from the EYC 2023 final bid and recognising the need to pursue activities with and for young people.
