How to get around the city?

We advise you to walk - be sure to wear a face mask and keep a safe distance from other pedestrians. Buses and trolley buses are a part of public transport. Trolley buses are not so common, so taking a ride could be an interesting experience. 45 people will be able to travel simultaneously in a 18-meter-vehicle, while 30 passengers will be able to enter a standard 12-meter bus / trolleybus. Half of the seating positions must remain free. Relevant information about changes in passenger limits will be posted on vehicles. You will find all necessary information about Lublin public transport, routes and tickets on the website www.ztm.lublin.eu.

The Lublin City Bike operates again, i.e. 891 bikes located at 91 rental stations. The system operator cares for a proper hygiene and disinfection of bikes and stations. However, it does not absolve you to use additional safety rules:

  1. use the mobile application to rent and return the bike,
  2. avoid touching the terminal screen,
  3. wear gloves (although their use is not mandatory),
  4. and keep your distance.

You can learn more about the city bike system at www.lubelskirower.pl. You can also use electric scooters. Two operators in Lublin offer this type of transport: Blinkee.city and Bolt.

Which interesting places can you see in Lublin?

Lublin impresses with its history told by museums, monuments, traditional flavours, and legends hidden in the streets, alleys, and walls of tenement houses. It is worth starting with a walk around the Old Town and following the trail of historical wealth, multicultural roots, as well as the still alive traditions of the Jagiellonian period and the Jewish diaspora. During your staying, you cannot miss the biggest tourist attractions of Lublin – we recommend to visit them as a part of tourist routes or guided tours. During the sightseeing, it is worth to use the Lublin Tourist application, take a tourist map in your hand, and if it is possible - walk around the city with an audio guide.

Leisure time outside

Throughout the year, Lublin has many attractions to offer for people who like to spend their free time actively, surrounded by nature, away from crowded areas. Bike paths, parks as well as sports and recreational facilities attract people who like active forms of recreation - check the possibilities in the tab - Active Lublin. The city also has a dozen of city parks - you can read about them in the tab - Gardens and parks. These are larger, specially composed, public areas created for relaxation purposes among the greenery. The age and development of Lublin parks are very different. Among them, there are historic premises with a beautiful forest stand, but most of them were created today and they are located in large residential districts. It is the perfect place to relax while exploring Lublin.

What can you see in the neighbourhood area?

Lublin is situated in the centre of the Lubelskie region, that is why, it is an ideal starting point for short trips to the region's greatest attractions. If you stay in Lublin for a couple of days, you can spend a day or two to see Zamość or take a rest in the nature of Polesie or Roztocze. Although if you do not have much time, we recommend you to visit Zamoyski Palace in Kozłówka, combining old architecture and beautiful views of Kazimierz Dolny or spa centre in Nałęczów.

Blood donors - we need your help!

Due to the exceptional situation related to the coronavirus epidemic and the increasing demand from hospitals for blood and its components, we look to all people who can donate blood to save the health and life of others. We appeal to everyone, and especially to people who work in a remote mode, to donate the blood in Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Centres. Your help is really needed!

Blood and its components are mainly given to patients with cancer, during and after chemotherapy, patients who require transplantation, cardiac surgery, people who have deficiencies of blood and its components, coagulation disorders, people who have burns and injuries, and who have suffered an accident. The webpages of blood donation and blood therapy centres provide information on the current stocks of blood and its components. However, all blood groups are needed because there are recipients with different groups. Obviously, the blood of the O group RhD- (negative) is the most expected, because in an emergency, in the absence of blood of the correct group, it can be transfused to any recipient.

Blood donation is a safe process. At all stages of blood donation, only disposable equipment is used, therefore, there is no risk of infection with pathogens. Blood donation also does not harm health. In addition, Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Centres have implemented procedures involving the initial qualification of Donors and Blood Donor Candidates, which includes, among others an interview to determine if the Donor may have had contact with infected people. Moreover, in the interests of the safety of Blood Donors and blood donation centre employees, staff is equipped with personal protective equipment. Everyone must also keep the required distance of two meters between themselves.

We remind you that in Lublin you can donate blood at the Regional Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Centre,  Żołnierzy Niepodległej 8, street.
