New rules on covering the nose and mouth, open cinemas, and gyms - further restrictions will be lifted

The fourth stage of lifting restrictions related to COVID-19 is ahead of us. From May 30, we will not need to cover the nose and mouth in the open space - but only if we can keep 2 meters distance from others. However, masks will be necessary in some confined spaces, including shops, churches, buses, and trams. In addition, cinemas, theatres, gyms, and massage salons will be opened, but under strict sanitary regime. It will be possible to organise weddings up to 150 people. Although there many restrictions lifted, one rule will remain valid - we will still have to be especially careful in contacts with other people.

In open space: mask or social distance (from May 30)

If in the open space you can keep 2 metre-distance from others, you do not need to cover your mouth and nose. So, you can walk, ride a bike, walk on the street, park, beach, or car park without a mask - but only if you keep the right social distance.

Note! If you are not able to keep a 2-metre distance from others in the open space - for example, on a crowded pavement - then you need to cover your mouth and nose. It is for our mutual security.

Please remember! The obligation to maintain a 2-metre social distance excludes parents with children who need care (up to 13 years of age), people living together, disabled people, people who cover their mouths and nose.

Places where you are obliged to cover mouth and nose!

  • buses and trams,
  • shops,
  • cinemas and theatres,
  • massage and tattoo parlour,
  • churches,
  • public institutions (if you are going to settle a matter).

Additional places with the obligation to cover mouth and nose will be determined by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.

Exemptions where you do not need to cover mouth and nose:

  • at work – if the employer ensures adequate distances between work positions and meets sanitary requirements,
  • in a restaurant or pub – when you take your seat at the table.

The limits of people - in shops, at fairs, on posts and in restaurants - will be lifted from May 30.

The limits of people in the trade and gastronomical industry will be abolished. Until now, in a shop, restaurant, fair, service centre or post office there has been a limit of people regarding to the area of the room or number of service points. From May 30, this rule will not be in force anymore. The limit of people at stadiums is still uncertain.

Note! In gastronomical facilities, there must still be an adequate distance between the tables and customers must wear face masks before they sit at the table. All sanitary guidelines also apply - including hand and table disinfection.

Please remember!  You must still cover your nose and mouth in the store, market, and post office. Moreover, in the store there is still mandatory to disinfect hands and to wear gloves!

Religious ceremonies and funerals

The abolition of restrictions will also apply to churches and other places of worship. The limit of persons will also cease to apply from Saturday, May 30. Similarly with funeral ceremonies - the current limit of 50 people will not apply.

Note! In the places of worship, the faithful must cover their mouth and nose.

Note! Due to the epidemiological situation, Sanitary epidemiological station will present recommendations on gatherings or outdoor concerts. The final decision, however, belongs to the local government.

Weddings and other family ceremonies (from June 6)

It will be possible to organize weddings and other family ceremonies, with up to 150 people.

Note! Wedding guests do not have to wear face masks.
