The City of Lublin invites to participate in cultural events while celebrating two upcoming milestone anniversaries: the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union (May 1) and the 455th anniversary of the Union of Lublin (July 1). Over the next two months, residents of Lublin can expect both concerts of classical music and large outdoor events, performances, and guided walks. The celebrations will begin with the Beethoven Concert, featuring the polonaises of F. Chopin and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. The event will be held on Sunday (April 28) at 6:00 PM in the Aula of the Collegium Maius of the Medical University of Lublin.

In the following days, residents will have the opportunity to participate in guided walks with "Inspiration Guides" who will share stories about places related to the Union of Lublin. The beginning of May is also associated with Lublinalia Festival, embracing a diverse student culture. On May 3, together with Folk Song & Dance Ensemble "Lublin" we will traditionally dance the "Polonaise for Lublin".

The coming months will also feature major City Festivals. European Month of Creativity events will commence on Thursday (May 9), whereas Night of Culture will be held at the beginning of June (June 1/2), filling the city centre with various forms of artistic creativity. The Festival will be inaugurated by the Riverview Arts Festival – a new Festival in the space of Lublin. Throughout Summer, green areas along the Bystrzyca River will showcase objects and installations created by artists purely for the Festival. The first days of June will also see the second edition of the Literature and Children's Development Festival "Alphabet". In June, there will also be Festivals such as the Multicultural Lublin presenting the culture of national, ethnic and religious minorities present in our city and region, and East of Culture – Different Sounds, allowing for meetings with the most interesting musical sensation at the crossroads of different genres, traditions, and cultural influences.

Upcoming musical events planned as part of the approaching celebrations include: "Concert for Europe" by the Lublin Federation of Bards, the 11th International Accordion Festival, a concert at the Romuald Lipko Concert Shell celebrating the 50th anniversary of Budka Suflera, a performance by the Lithuanian group Ugniavijas and a dance party with the Polish-Ukrainian folk band in celebration of the Union of Lublin Day. From July onwards, through the Portal located at the Lithuanian Square, we will be able to greet not only residents of Vilnius but also those of New York and Dublin.

During a long May weekend, from Wednesday to Saturday (May 1-4), we also recommend additional evening multimedia shows at the fountain in the Lithuanian Square (every Friday and Saturday at 9:00 PM). The agenda is available on the fontanna.lublin.eu website and the official profile on Facebook.

The planned events are important part within Lublin’s competition bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 2029. The detailed agenda commemorating the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union and the 455th anniversary of the Union of Lublin is presented on the attached poster and on the lublin.eu website under the Culture tab. Some events require tickets.
